Current file support includes *.doc, *.docx, *.pdf, *.ppt, *.pps, *.tiff.
*.xls is not supported by Google's Doc Viewer. Hopefully they will change this in the future.
This extension will update quickly to support new files types as they become supported by Google Docs Viewer.
Please note that the download file link on the context menu calls to a PHP PaGE on my website to allow you to actually download the file (by sending the proper HTTP headers), and not just open it in another view. The file your downloading must be accessible via the web. If you have trouble with this, please let me know. you can free download Ultimate Google Docs Viewer 0.8.2 now.
