The solution to your overflowing tabs is here: vertical tabs!
Instead of trying to read the tabs labels as they shrink ever smaller, Tab Menu provides a vertical browser action menu in which you can select, close, and even rearrange your tabs! You can also search for a tab by typing in the text Box!
* Select tab: click or enter key
* Close tab: close button or middle click
* Rearrange tabs: drag-and-drop
* Find tabs: search both tab titles and URLs with text box
* Navigate through tab menu: mouse or tab key
* Options page: merge windows and set options for tab counter
* Open tab menu in tab with keyboard shortcut (Default = ctrl+m)
(because of limitations in what Chrome extensions can do, the keyboard shortcut may not work on all pages and requires pages to be refreshed for it to take effect)
This includes the main features of the following extensions and more:

Known bug in Chrome itself:
- Popup might stay open when switching tabs or close when clicking an 'x'
