For Shutdown 1.0Publisher's description

Shutdown is a System Utilities software developed by Ingenieurbuero Paule. After our trial and test, the software is proved to be official, secure and free. Here is the official description for Shutdown:

Brothersoft Editor: Do you have a PC whose manufacturers implemented the "Shutdown and Power off" feature of Windows NT?

Congratulations! You're a lucky one. Most PC manufacturers are afraid from the efforts of developing a customized HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) for their mainboards. Glorious exceptions are as Far as I know HP and DELL.

It is a great benefit to switch off the PC after all work is done, for example:

After the Daily Backup
After a lengthy download has been completed
After business hours
And many more...
The Windows NT Resource Kit provides a little utility called SHUTDOWN.EXE which allows to shutdown and even reboot computers.
But it lacks for the possibility to shutdown and power off computers. Maybe Microsoft changes that in the next release of their NT resource kit.

But meanwhile I developed my own little SHUTDOWN utility which exactly has the missing feature.

Microsoft has done it at last! The SP4 of Windows NT contains a HAL supporting APM1.1. It is called HAL.DLL.SOFTEX. Just Copy this file to the SYSTEM32 directory and rename it to HAL.DLL. You have to patch the registry to enable the new functionality using this file. Don't forget to enable the power managment in your Bios.
you can free download Shutdown 1.0 now.
