It Works as:

After installing iDesk, all of your customer support email will be handled by iDesk. Each time your customer sends an email, iDesk will create a new ticket and send an email confirmation to your staff and to your customer too.

Now your staff needs to log into iDesk and respond to the ticket. The reply message will be sent to your customer. To reply back to the ticket, the customer could visit iDesk or simply reply to the email using their email client.

When both sides are satisfied the ticket can be closed. The closed ticket can be also re-opened if necessary.

In order to keep the database healthy and a reasonable size, tickets that are inactive for more than the specified time (Default in 7 days) will be closed automatically. And the tickets those are closed more than specified time (default in 30 days) will be deleted automatically.

In order to reduce ticket volume, you may add new articles in the knowlegdebase directory. The same scenario is also aplicable for the download directory
