Tetris Free download

As every other beginning game programmer, I have written a tetris clone. It was written in Turbo Pascal. It might not work under windows NT / 2000 / XP.

Run tetris.exe to play the game. Use the up and down keys to navigate through the menu, and press space to make a selection. The different menu options are explained one by one below. With The Escape key you can quit the game.

* Start game - obvious
* Redefine keys - this feature is not implemented yet
* n Player(s) - select this option to change the number of players.
Up to 3 players can play simultaneously, but 3 player mode is a bit buggy.
* sound on/off - select this to turn the sound on or off
* bonus on/off - this feature is not implemented yet
* battle on/off - If battle mode is on, and you are playing with more
than one player simultaneously, a player will receive an extra
line at the bottom of his Box if his opponent fills two or more lines.
* set 4/5 - play with tetrads that consist of either 4 or 5 blocks.
5 blocks is more difficult
* 1 life / n lives - the number of extra lives you get at the
beginning of a game
* quit - obvious

When you have started a game, blocks will fall from the top of a container to the bottom. You can turn the block and move it to the left and to the right. Your goal is to fill up the box nice and evenly. If a horizontal line is filled with blocks completely, The line will
disappear. That way you can make sure that the box doesn't fill up completely. If the box does fill up To The Top, you lose a life. You can score extra points by removing multiple lines in one go.

The keys used to navigate the blocks:

Player one:

down = down
left = left
right = right
turn = insert / delete

Player two:

down = s
left = a
right = d
turn = ctrl / alt

escape stops the game immediately.
