Edit By BS Editor: Fotoxx is a free open source Linux program for editing digital photos. The goal of fotoxx is to meet most photo editing needs while remaining easy to use.
Navigate images using a pageable thumbnail window. Change brightness and contrast, change color intensity, saturation, depth, make panoramas and HDR images, fix red-eyes, trim, rescale, rotate, warp, fix perspective, sharpen, blur, remove noise, add Artistic Effects. Edit within mouse-selected area. Import RAW files, edit 16 bits/color. Add tags to images, search by tags, dates, and star-ratings.
Navigate a large image collection using a pagable thumbnail window.
Click a button to make the thumbnails larger or smaller.
Click a thumbnail to view full-size or edit in a new window.
Import RAW image files from a digital camera.
Edit and save images in 8 or 16 bits/color (jpeg or tiff).
Brightness can be adjusted independently for brighter and darker image areas.
The brightness distribution can be "flattened", often a fast and easy method to Improve overall Balance and detail.
Trim an image (cut away unwanted margins).
Rotate an image (level a tilted image or turn in 90 degree steps).
Rescale an image (change pixel dimensions).
Remove red-eyes, usually with 1-click.
Correct perspective problems, e.g. slanted or curved buildings.
Stretch or warp a selected image area to produce strange effects.
Sharpen an image (reduce blur or fuzziness).
Blur an image (soften sharp edges, bLend out skin spots).
Reduce noise (speckles) in a low-light photo.
Reduce color depth (reduce no. of colors, posterize).
Vary color intensity from gray scale to intensified (saturated) color.
Transform a photo into a simulated drawing, embossing, or painting.
Editing can also be done within an area outlined with the mouse, with smooth blending of the edges.
