FMV has been developed as a 'multi-threaded' application (and has been since 2001) - This allows FMV to automatically take full advantage of todays new multi-core CPU's. This together with the advancement in GPU technology allows FMV to deliver real-time performance. FMV works best with multi-core CPU's. If you have any of the processors \ graphics cards below, FMV will work well on your system.

FMV is tested on a range of platforms the least powerful of which is a 1Ghz Pentium 3 with 512MB of RAM and a DirectX7 graphics card. This system manages realtime previews on standard DV footage.
GraphEdit output
For advanced users, FMV will also output the DirectX 'Filtergraph' for each Directshow filter used in the render. This will allow you to Connect the filters in your own way and with your own settings. Let FMV and DirectX work out how to render the movie, then tailor the output and settings to your own custom preferences.
XML based Render scripts
FMV utilises XML based render scripts. These can be edited and rendered in a stand-alone process. This would allow you to work on low-res copies of source film and then transmit the XML based edit to a high powered render engine for production. Great for 'Cloud' based applications. An SDK is currently in development to make this process seamless.
