Brothersoft Editor PowerZip allows you to record PowerZip Macro Files to automate common compression tasks such as backup. PowerZip Macro Files are quick and easy to record and allow you to repeat the compression (or unzipping) task with a simple double-click. PowerZip Macro Files can also be run as part of an automated script.
You can use PowerZip to encrypt (password-protect) confidential documents and files for storage or communication over insecure channels (such as e-mail). Most Zip programs only support standard Zip 2.0 encryption which is universally considered to be highly insecure (hence the availability of a large numbers of zip "password-recovery" programs which essentially allow you access the encrypted files without knowing the password). While PowerZip still supports standard Zip encryption for backward-compatibility, PowerZip 7 now allows you to encrypt your files with 256-bit AES, offering a high level of data security.
PowerZip supports more than 12 types of archives so you will be unlikely to find yourself in a situation where you bought a compression program but need to buy another one because you ran into an archive not supported by the program.
