For Cert Viewer Plus 1.5Publisher's description

Extends the certificate viewer with two options: an X.509 certificate can either be displayed in PEM format (opens in a new window) or saved to a file (PEM/DER/PKCS#7). Furthermore, an entry for Direct Access to the certificate manager is added to the Tools menu, including a Keyboard Shortcut.

Firefox 3.0 and future releases of Thunderbird (3.0) and SeaMonkey (2.0) include the export feature in the standard build, see https://Bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315871. The extension can be installed with all releases, however, and provides identical functionality - with the exception of the PKCS#7 export (only available in newer releases of Firefox/Thunderbird/Seamonkey).

Cert Viewer Plus releases 1.0 and later are provided as signed XPI files. The signature will successfully verify if the "Builtin Roots Module" is enabled in its standard configuration. An error like "could not install the file ... because: Signing could not be verified" indicates that either the XPI file has been tampered with or the trust settings of the built-in certification authorities have been tweaked. (In the latter case, I assume that you're also savvy enough to figure out what trust anchor needs to be re-enabled in order to make the verification succeed again... or how to rip the signature out of the file, otherwise ;-)
