The BS-Server program, which runs in your computer, builds a data stream with your pictures and/or audio files, splits this stream in small blocks and uploads them into a directory of your web site using the FTP protocol.
The disk space required in the web server depends on the broadcast bandwidth, but is always less than 5 MB. The disk space actually used is Independent of the broadcast duration, because the data blocks uploaded by BS-Server are deleted periodically . You can stream gigabytes of audio and images without ever using more than a few MB of the server disk space.
BS-Tuner programs running in your viewers/listeners computers, fetch the small data blocks uploaded by BS-Server, paste them together to rebuild the original stream, and render your pictures and/or audio.
BS-Server Processes audio and images files in real time: there is no need to resample or resize them prior to broadcasting. Audio is compressed with a Vorbis codec, achieving superior quality.
